1st day Balatripura Pithapuram Temple Navaratri
Pithapuram Puruhutika Devi Temple Navaratri Utsavams are dedicated to the presiding deity of the temple – Sri Puruhutika Devi (Goddess Rajarajeshwari Devi). In 2023, Pithapuram Temple Navaratri utsavams begins on October 15 and will end on October 24 with Vijayadashami Mahotsavam.
Pithapuram Puruhutika Devi Temple is one of the Ashtadasha Shakti Peethas (18 Prominent temples dedicated to Goddess Shakti).

On 5 October 2022, Rajarajeshwari Ammavari Theppotsavam will be held. Rajarajeshwari Ammavaru along with Sri Kukkuteshwara Swamy are taken out in procession on Hamsa Vahanam in Padagaya Pushkarini.
From 26 September 2022, Dattamaala Deeksha is given to devotees.
In Puranas and Tantras, Pithapuram was previously known as Pithikapuram or Pushkara kshetram. It is to be noted that in the premises of Kukkuteswara swamy temple is located the temple of Puruhutika devi at the North-East corner. It is a large temple. It has a large pond known as Padagaya sarovaram (Pada Gaya Sarovar). The temple is facing the South. There is a good carving of the images of Ashtadasa Shakti peethas on its temple walls.
