Subshrines Details – Arunagirinathar was a Tamil saint poet who lived during the 15th century in Tamil Nadu. He was the creator of Thirupugazh, a book of poems in Tamil in praise of God Muruga. Divinely, his shrine is located just opposite to Singaravelar sannidhi in a 9 sq meter space. The small shrine was built in 1980. He also composed Thirumailai Thirupugazh. Daily puja is performed in the morning and evening. The statue is stunning piece depicting the saint in folded palms in front of his favourite God Lord Muruga.

Subshrines Details – On the inside north of the temple is Punnaivana nathar sannidhi located in an area of 4 meter length and 3.5 meter width. The sacred tree (sthala Vriksham) Punnai with a circumference of 2 meters is located here. Under the shade of the divine tree Uma is seen performing puja to Siva Lingam. Uma performing puja in the guise of a peacock is depicted beautifully on the upper crest of the sannidhi. Punnia Mani Manthra Aushatham. The three important components are shapes, mani manthras ( chanting of hyms) Aushatham ( sacred tree). In kapali temple the Punnai is the sacred tree. There is invisible connection between the sacred tree and the God inside the sanctum. An attractive tiny dome (vimanam) and small hall with four pillars is an eye catcher. Just opposite to the divine tree Punnai is situated the Go shala or cow shed. A 20 sq meter space is provided where cows are reared.
