Mumbai, Margao Special Trains for Ganesh Festival 2015.. Central Railway will operate 42 special trains between Mumbai and Margao to accommodate the rush of passengers travelling during Ganesh Chaturthi festival from September 11 to October 1. The booking dates are yet to be announced.
As many as 34 CST Mumbai-Margao-CST Mumbai special trains with train numbers 01001/01002 will run six days a week, except Thursdays.
Special train number 01001 will leave from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), Mumbai at 12.20 am from September 11 everyday till September 29 and arrive at Margo at 2.10 pm on the same day.
Train no 01002 will leave Margao at 2.40 pm on September 11 everyday till September 29 and arrive at CST Mumbai at 4.25 am the next day.
Another special weekly train service 01033/01034 CST Mumbai-Margao-CST Mumbai will operate on Thursdays in both directions from September 10 to October 1. Special train 01033 will leave CST Mumbai at 12.20 am every Thursday and arrive at Margao at 2.10 pm the same day.
Special train 01034 will leave from Margao at 3.25 pm every Thursday from September 10 to October 1 and arrive at CST Mumbai at 4.25 am the next day.
The trains will halt at the following stations between CST Mumbai and Margao: Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Savarde, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgaon, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Zarap, Sawantwadi Road, Madure, Pernem, Thivim and Karmali.
These specials will have one AC-2 tier coach, two AC-3 tier coaches, 11 sleeper class coaches, two general second class coaches and two general second class coaches cum guard’s brake vans, says a press note issued by the Central Railway.
