Mukh Vrat is an auspicious Vrat mentioned in the Padma Purana. It is observed for one year.
The major observance of Mukh Vrat begins with avoiding ‘Tambool’ (Mukhvaas) for one long year. And Godaan is also one of the major aspects of this Vrata. A cow is donated to a poor Brahmin or to any needy till the conclusion of the vrata.
The merit of this Vrata includes wealth, health and prosperity for family along with the opportunity of becoming the leader or ruler of Yakshas.
