Maha Kumbhabhishekam in Vijayawada Kanakadurga Malleshwara Swamy Temple

Maha Kumbhabhishekam is a popular ritual held at Vijayawada Kanakadurga Malleshwara swamy Temple for once in 12 years. In 2012, Vijayawada Mahakumbhabhishekam date is February 3, Friday. The rituals have begun with Ganapathi Puja on Wednesday. Kalasha Sthapana was performed in Rajamandapam with Mandaparadhana, Pradhana Devatha Avahanam, the holy waters of Pushkara and Maha nadis.

Kanchi Kamakoti Peethadhipathi Shri Jayendra Saraswati will perform the Maha Kumbhabhishekam. 12 Kalasha full of holy waters from 12 holy rivers and several seas will be used for this ritual.

The rituals and pujas for Mallaeshwara Swamy Temple’s Dwajasthambha Prathishta are also started. Mandapa Pujas and Agni Pratishtapana programs were performed in the premises of Malleshwara Temple.
