Lesser Known Characters in Mahabharata

Though we have might have read about lot of popular characters in Mahabharata, like the Pandavas, Krishna, Kauravas, Bhishma and Drona, yet the details about the great Bahlika Raja is mentioned only in a short manner. Bahlika Raja is considered to be the next birth of the great Bhakta Prahalada.

Spiritual Writers can also publish a separate book mentioning the life history of Bahlika Raja, who also showers his grace towards his devotees as Guru Raghavendra in this Kaliyuga. Likewise, the great warrior Yuyutsu, the son of Dhritarashtra and Sughada, who served as a maid to Ma Gandhari, was also not described in Mahabharata in a detailed manner. Similarly the great Vikarna, who was the third son of Dhritarashtra and Ma Gandhari, was also a noble person, who had questioned his brothers, Duryodana, and Dushyasana, when they have insulted Ma Draupati, in the court of the Kauravas, was also not shown as a popular character in the Mahabharata.

Likewise the pure and pious Sulabha, who was considered to be the pure and pious consort of Sri Vidura, and the chaste and the wonderful lady Ma Parishrami, who was the mother of Vidura, was also not mentioned much in the Mahabharata. But we cannot blame Sri Veda Vyasa for not disclosing additional information about some of the personalities of Mahabharata, since if he mentions about all the characters of Mahabharata in a detailed manner, then the wonderful epic itself would become too big, and reading the lengthier Mahabharata text, would become too difficult for the readers.

Our Hinduism is a very good religion which is praised even by the foreigners, and it contains lot of good epics such as Mahabharata, Ramayana and Srimad Bhagavatham, which adds more glory to our sweet Hinduism.

Even after knowing about the greatness of our Hindu Holy epics, most of us are not interested to buy at least one of the copy of the Hindu epics from the Devotional book stall, since we feel that doing such an act is a sheer waste of time and money.
