Lava Kusha Kalyanam | Divine Marriage of Lava & Kusha with Sumathi & Sambigai

The wonderful marriage ceremony of Lava and Kucha, sons of Lord Rama and Mata Sita took place during the Treta Yuga, in presence of the Holy sages, their parents, relatives and royal kings.

While Lava married princess Sumathi, Kucha married princess Sambigai, who were the daughters of the great King Purikeerthi. Both of them were married the pious sons of Lord Rama at their father’s kingdom during the time of Svayamvara. They were married the wonderful sons of Lord Rama after knowing about their significance from the sages! Lava Kucha’s parents, Rama and Sita were very happy to see the grand wedding event of their sons, and they blessed the newly married couples. These details were found in the “VIVAHA KANDA”, of Ramayana!

It is also mentioned that the holy marriage event was witnessed even by the celestial Devas like Gandharvas, Devas, Kinnaras and Kimburudas from the heaven.

During ancient times, at the time of wedding, learned priests used to wish the newly wedded couple by saying, “Let both of you live together, like Lava-Sumathi and Kucha-Sambigai, and produce wonderful children with the blessings of the holy royal couples, Lava-Sumathi and Kucha-Sambigai.

The brothers Lava and Kucha lived with their wives for a long period of time, and ruled their respective kingdoms happily, cheerfully and prosperously, with the blessings of their father, Lord Rama.

Those who read this excellent marriage event of Rama’s sons on this auspicious SRI RAMA NAVAMI DAY (30.03.2023) would be blessed by Lord Rama, Sita and Hanuman and their marriage life would go smoothly, peacefully and steadily without any clashes or separations.

At the present period, divorces happen between the couples, even due to small, small silly reasons. In order to avoid that, let us concentrate our entire attention on Lord Rama by the way of reciting his “RAMA MANTRA” continuously, similar to our great Guru Sri Raghavendra, who still recites the Sri Rama Mantra from his Samadhi Shrine at MANTRALAYAM, and that’s why, he is able to provide his abundant blessings on his devotees like the vast ocean.
