Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy on Gaja Vahanam 15 February 2015…

On the evening of the sixth day of Srivari Brahmotsavam, Lord Kalyana Venkateswara enthralled the devotees on the Gaja Vahanam. Elephant has been a vehicle of the Lord Kalyana Venkanna Swamy deity from time immemorial.

The richness of hindu mythology lies in its generosity to provide a respectable position of worship even for various species of fauna. Starting from Cow to Crow each of these creatures have a revered place in Hindu scriptures. Among those blessed creatures, the mighty elephant occupies a pride place being the vehicle of Goddess Laxmi Devi, the Consort of Lord Vishnu. To appease His consort as well to bless the devotees with prosperity lord takes a pleasure ride on Gaja Vahanam.

TTD JEO Sri Pola Bhaskar, VGOS Sri Raveendra Reddy, DyEO Sri Sridhar, AEO Sri Dhanajeyulu, Temple Staff and large number of devotees took part.
