Kakatiya Utsavalu (Kakatiya Festival) marks the beginning of Warangal Ramappa Temple’s 800th Anniversary celebrations. In 2013, Kakatiya Utsavalu are held for three days – December 20, 21 and 22.
The year 2012 marked the completion of construction of Ramappa Temple of Palampet which makes the Kakatiya architecture different and unique from all the temple architecture systems of India.
Inaugural functions of Kakatiya Festival were organised for three days from December 21, 2012 at famous archeological sites of Kakatiya dynasty in Warangal. Thousand Pillars Temple at Hanamkonda, Warangal Fort, and Ramappa Temple are great symbols of the excellence of Kakatiya architecture.
In Warangal, there is a Shakti Peetha temple – Bhadrakali Temple, Hanamkonda where Navaratri utsavalu, Shakambari utsavalu and Ugadi are celebrated with utmost gusto.
