If we come across the Historic Novel, Ponniyin Selvan, or if we read from any books related to the Cholas and the Pandiyas, then we could know about the details and also about the great value of the Indra Haram (Divine Golden Jewellery), which was once presented by Lord Indra to an ancient Pandiyan King, but it was later shifted to Srilanka by a Pandiyan King Maravarmar, in order to keep it in a safe custody. During the medieval period, when the Cholas defeated the Pandiyas, immediately they went in search of the Indra Haram, since only if it were in their possession, they could be claimed as the powerful King amongst the Pandiyas!
Indra Haram is not just an ordinary Golden Necklace, but it was enriched with lot of beautiful and super natural elements. This necklace is as superb as Syamantaka Jewellery (Presented by Lord Surya to his devotee Satrajit during the previous Dwapara Yuga) which was mentioned in a tale of Lord Krishna. Those who are in its possession, would lead a healthy, wealthy and happy life. That’s why Cholas were very much concerned about the Indra Haram, and of course, it was believed that some-how they have obtained it after waging a war with Srilanka!
Now the question is, whether that wonderful divine thing is still present in the world or not! It is believed that this necklace was gifted to a popular temple by a Chola King, but, however, it is believed that, in course of time, the existence of that valuable thing is unclear!
But at this present period, obtaining a valuable thing from the hands of the gods like Indra and Surya is highly impossible! Appearance of deities before human beings is not an easy task, since most of us are not showing our sincere faith and devotion on the almighty. At this point of time, if anyone possess these valuable elements, then they could use it for the sake of the welfare of the world, like removing the poverty, diseases and sufferings of the people, since I strongly believe, that doing service to the human beings, is greater than doing service to the god!
