Cuttack is the former capital city and is one of the oldest cities in the administrative head quaters in the district. The town is at the apex delta and is formed by the rivers Kathajodi in South and Mahanadi in North. This is a scared place for devotees and pilgrims to visit Dhabaleswar temple.
By Air -The nearest airport to Cuttack is Biju Patnaik Airport which is located 28 km away from the city. There are different flights which are arranged from the Indian airlines and also from the different private sector operations which are connected to the city from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta, Chennai, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
By Rail- The city is at the Kolkata-Chennai main entrance and the railway station is located at the local station at the plethora of fast trains. These operate to connect the city from different prominence. These are connectedd outside Orissa and make the journey to Cuttack easier. This is most convenient and is a reasonable option to travel to Cuttack.
By Bus- The city is on the national highway and connects Chennai and Kolkatta. There are regular taxis and buses which fly to and from Cuttack. There are frequent buses from other districts of Orissa to this city. There are also direct buses that connect with Cuttack from various cities of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and West Bengal. It is to be noted that direct bus service to this temple from various part of the district. There are also special taxi services operated by travel agencies in this city.
