Holashtak 2022 | 8-day Holi Festival in North India

Holashtak is a period of eight days observed from Shukla Saptami or Ashtami in Falgun month to Falgun Purnima. In 2022, Holashtak begins on March 9 and ends on March 18.

It is mainly celebrated in North India and the period is considered inauspicious for Shubh karya or any functions.  Basically, Holi festival begins on the day when Holashtak starts and ends on Dhuleti, the next day of Falgun Purnima.

It is to note that Holi festival 2022 date is March 17-18.

Holashtak is celebrated in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh, and some other North Indian states.

On the starting day of Holashtak, the place for Holika Dahan is chosen and everyday some small sticks are added at the place for Holika Dahan. The nine-day Holi ends on Dhuleti day.

      holasstak start hota h asthmi start hone se … means jis day asthmi start hogi infact jis time tabhi se holastak start maane jaate h and upto purnima k end hone tak
