Fly Ash Ganesha idol at Sri Vighneshwara Seva Samithi Trust, Vijayawada

For the first time in the world, a Ganesha idol and other idols in a Ganapati mandal are made with fly ash (stone crush powder) at Sri Vighneshwara Seva Samithi Trust, Vijayawada for Ganesh Chaturthi 2012 celebrations.

Tarani Prasad Misro, famous sand sculptor based at Srikakulam, has made it possible. Tarani used crushed stone powder and water to give this Mandal a life.

The Ganapati idol at this Mandal has been built with a theme of Sabarimala Ayyappa as the Samithi is celebrating their 18th year pooja this year (2012).

It is to note that Tarani Prasad Misro is well known artist for his religious, social, cultural and patriotic sand sculptures, paintings and other innovative drawings.
