Ekadashi in August 2010 – Ekadasi Vrat or Ekadashi fasting in August 2010

Ekadashi, the most important vrat or fasting dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is observed with utmost devotion in both Vaishnava (Bhagvat) sect and Smartha sect of Hindus. In August 2010, Ekadashi dates are – August 6 and August 20. Kamika Ekadasi 2010 date is August 6 and Pavitra Ekadashi or Putrada Ekadashi 2010 date is August 20.

On 6th August 2010, Kamika Ekadasi ends at 8:29 in the night. It begins at 10 pm on 5th August 2010. Kamika Ekadashi is Shravan Krishna Ekadasi as per North Indian Hindi Panchang and Ashad Krishna Ekadasi as per the calendars followed in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh.

Pavitra or Putrada Ekadashi begins at noon 12:31 on 19th August 2010 and ends at afternoon 1:51 on 20th August 2010. Pavitra Ekadasi is Shravan Shukla Paksha Ekadasi as per all lunar calendars (Purnimanth and Amavasyanth Panchang) of India.
