Durga Visarjan
Durga Visarjan (immersion / Nimajjan) is the concluding event in Durga Navratri puja or Durga Puja. In 2022, Durga Visarjan date is October 5. Generally, Durga immersion is performed on Vijaya Dashami day. In Bengal and some other North Indian states, Durga Visarjan 2022 is performed on October 5.
But nowadays to prolong the festivities, the Durga immersion is also getting prolonged. In some areas, Visarjan is observed on October 5, the day of Bijoya Dashami.
There is no certain procedure to perform Durga Bisarjan. After performing Udwasan puja, Goddess Durga idol is immersed in water.
In many places, in the morning Goddess Durga’s Darpana Visarjan is held and in the evening idol immersion is performed.
In Bengal, Gujarat and Maharashtra, Durga Visarjan is the most eye-catching event where the celebrations conclude with a bang.
