Chandra Darshan is the appearance of New Moon after Amavasya in Hindu month. It falls on the day following Amavasya (No Moon). Chandra Darshana Vrata, Chandra Vratham and Chandrodaya Vrata is observed on Chandra Darshan day.

It falls in Magh Month (Magha Masam) as per all the calendar followed in North India, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. And it falls in Thai Masam of Tamil calendar, Makaram Month of Malayalam calendar and Magh Month of Bengali Panjika.
