Bhanu Saptami is a Saptami vrat which falls on Bhanuvara, Sunday. Bhanu means the Sun God. It is the most auspicious Saptami day among all Saptamis. 28 May 2022 is Bhanu Saptami.

On Bhanu Saptami day, people worship the Sun God or Surya Bhagawan. Reciting Aditya Hridayam and any other Surya stotras will keep devotees’ health fit forever.

Bhanu Saptami is celebrated widely in South India and some Western parts of India. The other important Saptami dedicated to Surya Bhagawan is Rath Saptami which is celebrated in Magha masam.

Surya Bhagavan is worshipped with Shodashopachar Pooja and Payasam (Kheer) is offered as Naivedyam and the same is taken by devotees as Prasadam after pooja.
