Ashad Mahina 2013 in North Indian Hindi Calendars

Ashad mahina (Ashadh month) is the fourth month in traditional Hindi calendars followed in North India. In 2013, Ashad mahina begins on June 24 and ends on July 22 as per the Hindi calendars followed in Hindi speaking states such as Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, and some more places.

Ashad month is considered as highly inauspicious during when all shubh karya such as marriages, gruhapravesh, Aksharabhyas, etc. are avoided.

Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra, Devsayani Ekadasi, Chaturmas Vrat Arambh, and Ved Vyas Purnima (Guru Purnima) are the important festivals celebrated in Ashad maas. Ashad Shukravar Lakshmi Vrat is the major Vrat observed in the month of Ashadh.
