Hi,
With all due respect, I would like to bring to your notice that a statement in the above post is misleading. In the sentence quoted as: “In 2009, the date of Anant Chaturdasi, also known as Ananta Chaturthi, is September 3.”, I would like to correct that Anant Chaturdashi is not known as Anant Chaturthi. Both are different.
Basically, the beginning of the Ganesh vestival is the “Ganesh Chaturthi” day, and the visarjan day is “Anant Chaturdashi” day. Chaturthi, is the fourth day of any lunar month in the Hindu calendar where as Chaturdashi is the fourteenth day. So, they cant be the same.
Just thought I could add in some information here.
Thank you.
