On 26 May 2014 Vat Savitri Vrat begins in many places of North India, mainly in Bengal, Odisha and some other eastern parts of India. It begins on Trayodashi in Krishna Paksha of Jyeshta Month and ends on Jyeshta Amavasya as per traditional North Indian Hindi calendars.
Vat Savitri vrat begins on 26 May and ends on 28 May with Vat Amavasya Vrat. 27th May is observed as Savitri Chaturdashi. Sabitri Chaturdashi is highly observed in Bengal.
In some parts of North India, Vat Savitri Vrat is also observed on Jyeshta Purnima (Vat Pournima Vrat) i.e.. on 13 June 2014.
