Times Green Ganesha 2010 – Initiative for Eco Friendly Ganesh Utsav in Mumbai and Pune

Tata Housing ‘Times Green Ganesha’, sponsored by New Haven a project by Tata Housing, is a campaign for eco friendly Ganesh utsav in Mumbai and Pune. Times Group and Tata Housing joined together for this initiative to use eco-sensitive Ganesha idols for Ganesh Chaturthi 2010. Through this program, they will promote eco-friendly way of celebrating Ganeshotsav which will involve – communication on celebrating festival in an eco-friendly manner and enabling the citizens to adopt eco-friendly methods by showing the way. The organizers have great support from the government organizations such as BMC, TMC, and PMC, and NGOs such as Aniruddha Bapu Trust, Enviro Vigil, Ecoexist etc. Times Green Ganesha program will end with grand prize distribution ceremony.

Tata Housing presents Times Green Ganesha contest is not confined to Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandals but household celebrations (Home Ganesh Utsav) and complex or society Ganesh mandals (Society / Complex Ganesh Utsav) also can participate.

The organizers of the event are also planning to forward the thought to various cities and could be adapted to various festivals such as Durga Puja, Holi, and Diwali etc.
