The Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji will be observing Shankara Jayanti 2022 at Sringeri from 2 May to 7 May. The event shall conclude with the Grand finale of the Rathotsava of Sri Adi Shankara-Bhagavatpadacharya.
During the five day grand festivity, Mahanyasa-purvaka Shatarudrabhishekam will be performed along with Parayana of the Veda, Prasthanatraya Bhashya, Srimad Shankara Digvijaya.
Special Puja by Jagadguru
Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji will perform special puja to Sri Adi Shankaracharya at the newly consecrated shrine in Sringeri on the fifth day, viz. Vaishakha Shukla Panchami at noon, which will be accompanied by the sonorous chanting of Vedic mantras by Pandits of the Math, Scholars of the Veda Poshaka Sabha and students of the Sadvidya Sanjeevini Samskrita Mahapathashala.
Veda-Poshaka Sabha
Vedic scholars from the four corners of the country will assemble at Sringeri and perform Veda Parayanam of the four Vedas, namely the Rig Veda, Yajur Veda, Sama Veda and Atharva Veda. As a part of the activities of the Veda-Poshaka Sabha conducted by the Peetham, advanced Vedic examinations for students will also be conducted and successful students will be awarded a certificate of merit along-with prizes.
Rathotsava
In accordance with the will of the Jagadguru to conduct Rathotsava of Sri Adi Shankaracharya every year after Sri Shankara Jayanti Mahotsava, a grand Rathotsava will be conducted on the sixth-day of the fortnight, viz. Vaishakha Shukla Shashthi, after the completion of the five day festivities.
