On the occasion of Puttaparthi Sathya Sai Baba’s Samadhi (funeral), South Central Railway (SCR) will run special trains to Puttaparthi on 25 April, 26 April, and 27 April in 2011 from Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and many other stations. Sathya Saibaba died at Puttaparthi trust hospital on 24 April morning at 7.40. APSRTC and KSRTC have announced that special busses will run from all across the states of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka to Puttaparthi for Bhagavan’s devotees. It enables all common devotees to get last darshan of Sathya Saibaba.
A special train (No. 07611) with 17 coaches will leave Secunderabad at 5.30 p.m. on Monday and reach Satya Sai Prashanti Nilayam (SSPN) at 3.30 a.m. on Tuesday. In the return direction, the train (No. 07612) will depart from SSPN at 5 a.m. on Tuesday and arrive at Kachiguda at 5.30 p.m. the same day.
The train will halt en route at Kachiguda, Shadnagar, Jadcherla, Mahbubnagar, Gadwal, Kurnool town, Dhone, Gooty, Anantapur and Dharmavaram. It will have one AC two tier, two III AC, ten sleeper class, two second class (general) coaches, and two second class luggage-cum-brake vans.
The railways will also run one way trains to SSPN from Kachiguda and Vijayawada on Tuesday. Train No. 07603 will depart from Kachiguda at 10 p.m. on Tuesday and reach SSPN at 7.30 a.m. on Wednesday. Train No. 07211 will leave Vijayawada at 4 p.m. on Tuesday and reach SSPN at 4.30 a.m. on Wednesday.
While the composition of coaches and halts for train No. 07603 would be the same as of train No. 07611, the train from Vijayawada (07211) will have only 14 coaches – one AC II tier, two III AC, two chair cars, three sleeper class, four second class (general), and two second class luggage-cum-brake vans. It will halt at Guntur, Narsaraopet, Vinukonda, Donakonda, Markapur road, Cumbum, Giddalur, Nandial, Dhone, Gooty, Anantapur, Dharmavaram and SSPN.
