Shankara Jayanthi in Sikkim (Viswa Shanti Mahayagnya VIII & Veda Sammelan)

As a part of Shankara Jayanthi Mahotsav, Shankara Jayanti and Viswa Shanti Mahayagnya VIII and Veda Sammelan will be held in various parts of Sikkim in May 2013, from May 13 to May 20.

The root of Dharma lies in Vedas. There is eternal peace wherever Dharma is prevalent. Their Holiness Jagadgurus Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji and Jagadguru Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji of Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam have blessed for universal peace and prosperity, Veda Parayan be organized at various places throughout India.

In pursuance of Their directions, Viswa Shanti Maha Yagnya and Veda Parayan were held in Jammu- Kashmir, Manipur, and other North-Eastern States. This year, as part of Shankara Jayanthi Mahotsav, Viswa Shanti Yagnya and Veda Sammelan will be held in various parts of Sikkim, 13 May onwards till 20 May 2013. Sikkim is a landlocked state located in the Himalayan mountains. It borders Nepal to the west, Tibet to the north and east, and Bhutan to the southeast, while the state of West Bengal lies to the south. Sikkim is the least populous state in India and also has the only open border between India and China. Gangtok is its capital.

Their Holiness Sri Shankaracharyas of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti peetam, Pujya Shri Jayendra Saraswati Shankaracharya Swamiji and His Holiness Pujya Shri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati Shankaracharya Swamiji, during their Vijaya Yatras in North East have blessed and established Sri Kanchaneswhar Shiva Panchayatan Temple in Ranipool, Gangtok, Sikkim in the year 2002.

Special programmes have been planned in the temple coinciding the Shankara Jayanthi Mahotsav.Devotees are invited to participate and receive the blessings of His Holiness and Anugraha of Jyeshtha Mata Devi and Sri Tripurasundari Sameta Chandramouleeshwaraswamy.
