Ruthu or Rithu is the season in Hindu astrology. The six common seasons or Rithu are – Vasant Rithu, Greeshma Rithu, Varsha Rithu, Sharad Rithu, Hemantha Ruthu, and Shishira Ruthu. Here are the duration and time periods of each Rithu in 2012-2013 year:

2. Greeshm Ruthu (summer season): 21 May 2012 to 19 July 2012
3. Varsha Rithu ( Rainy season): 20 July 2012 to 15 October 2012
4. Sharad Rithu or Sharat Ruthu (Autumn season): 16 October 2012 to 13 December 2012
5. Hemantha Ruthu (Pre-winter season): 14 December 2012 to 10 February 2013
6. Shishir Ruthu (Winter season): 11 February 2013 to 10 March 2013
