Rajim Kumbh Mela is an annual Hindu pilgrimage held in Rajim, Raipur district, in Chhattisgarh. Rajim Kumbh starts from Magh Purnima and continues for 15 days. Rajim Kumbh Mela 2011 starts on 18 February and ends on 2 March 2011. It is also known as ‘Fifth Kumbh’ or ‘Punni Mela’. At Triveni Sangam near Rajim (confluence of Mahanadi, Sondur, and Pairi rivers), the kumbh is held. During the religious event, a large number of people visit Kuleshwar Mahadev Temple and Rajiv Lochan Temple.
Rajim Kumbh begins with special puja at 3 am on 18 February 2011. Kalash Yatra is a procession of women bearing filled pitchers towards Mahadev temple from Mahanadi. More than 5 lakh pilgrims may visit the temples and perform holy dip or punya snan in Rajim Kumbh.
