Pune – Ernakulam bi-weekly train introduced on 27 November 2010 will help Sabarimala Ayyappa devotees of Pune and other parts of Maharashtra. This bi-weekly super fast express flagged off at Ernakulam junction railway station at 9 am on Saturday and will reach Ernakulam on 28 November 2010 at 11.20 am. Trains 2519 / 2520 Ernakulam – Pune – Ernakulam bi-weekly super fast express will leave Ernakulam on Tuesday and Fridays at 5.15 am and will reach Pune at 5.50 am, next day. From Pune, this super fast train will leave on Sundays and Wednesdays at 6.45 pm and will reach Ernakulam at 7 pm the next day.
This train will have stoppages at Thrissur, Shoranur, Tirur, Kozhikode, Thalassery, Kannur, Kasargod, Mangalore Junction, Madgaon, Savanthavadi Road and Panvel.
Earlier, officials of the Indian Railways were planning to introduce special trains to meet the expectation of Sabarimala pilgrims but now introduced Pune – Ernakulam bi-weekly train which will also cater to the needs of Sabarimala devotees.
