Pithori Amavas 2010 – Pitori Amavasya Puja

Pithori Amavasya or Pitori Amavas is observed on the Amavasya in Bhadrapad month as per North Indian calendars and it falls on Amavasi in Shravan month as per Marathi calendar and other Amavasyant Panchangas. Pitori Amavas 2010 date is September 8.

On Pithori Amavasya, 64 Yogini Shakti Goddesses, and Saptamatrika or Ashtamatrika devi are worshipped with Shodashopachar Puja. It is observed by married women for wellness of their children.

In Maharashtra, Pitori Amavas is observed as Pola or Bail Pola. In Andhra Pradesh and some parts of Karnataka, it is observed as Polala Amavasya or Poleramma Vratham or Polamba Vratam.
