Kumbha Bharani festival, also popular as Bhrani Utsavam, is a famous festival celebrated during the Malayalam month of Kumbham or Kumbha Masam (February – March) in Kerala. Kumbha Bharani 2013 date is February 16. It falls on 4th day of Kumbham Masam in 2013 (1188 Year in Malayalam calendar).
Kumbha Bharani festival marks the grand celebration in all Bhagavathi temples of Kerala especially in Chattikulangara Bhagavathy Temple near Kayamkulam.
Kumbha Bharani or Bharani Utsavam Chattikulangara Bhagavathy Temple attracts tens of thousands of devotees from all across Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Kerala and thousands of tourists from foreign countries. This festival is popularly known as Kumbha Mela of South India.
