Happy Ganesh Chaturthi 2025..I wish the readers of HINDUPAD a very happy prosperous joyful and colourful Vinayaka Chathurthi Festival day, which falls on 27 August 2025, and this year my English birth day also falls on Vinayaka Chathurthi festival day.
How many of us remember Lord Vinayaka during Vinayaka Chathurthi Festival day? How many of us celebrate Vinayaka Chathurthi Festival by thinking on our first god Lord Vinayaka? How many of us offer our sincere prayers and thanks to Lord Vinayaka during his marvellous birthday Festival?
We should first understand, that Vinayaka Chathurthi is being celebrated by us today, only due to the significance of Lord Vinayaka, that is, by making his divine presence on each and every thing in this wonderful universe. Hence, we must sincerely offer our heartily thanks to him, by saying, “HAPPY SRI VINAYAKA CHARTHURTHI FESTIVAL DAY, THANK YOU LORD VINAYAKA”.
Vinayaka Chathurthi is one of the most important festivals of the Hindus. This festival is celebrated in many countries. Vinayaka Chathurthi is celebrated as a festival that removes the dullness present in our life and gives freshness to his devotees.
Sri Vinayaka Chathurthi festival would be grandly celebrated all over the country. During that day, the tasty Prasad items, of course his favourite item, the delicious Mothakams, which is also called as Kozhukattais, would be offered before the picture and idol of Lord Vinayaka, and after the performance of puja, the Prasad would be offered to the devotees and they would eagerly taste the delicious sweet item by considering it to be the great Sri Vinayaka Prasadam. Likewise, in various Temples of Vinayaka, many varieties of Mothakams, like sweet and salt, and it would be prepared during the auspicious Vinayaka Chathurthi Festival day and it would be distributed to the devotees.
At least on that day, we should spend our time very happily for each and every moment. Needless to say, there is no need to talk about the celebration of this festival. For Vinayak devotees, every minute of that day would be spent with happiness, and they would also feel as if they are in heaven!
Lord Vinayaka is very fond of eating Mothakams also known as Kozhukattais, which is mostly made out of rice flour and jaggery. It is the duty of the Hindus to prepare the delicious Mothakams, since it is the best prasad items of Lord Vinayaka, and we can offer it to the first god by considering him to be one of our best children. Whenever our children ask anything, immediately their mother would readily prepare, and offer it to them. Likewise, we can also prepare the Mothakams, especially during his birth day, in order to offer it to Lord Vinayaka at the time of puja performance.
We could be able to prepare Mothakams very easily, and it is an inexpensive item only. If a poor Vinayaka devotee offers a small quantity of rice and jaggery to Lord Vinayaka in an uncooked form, even then Lord Vinayaka would consider that food as his favourite Mothakams and he would enjoy its affectionate taste.
I assure to all of the devotees of Lord Vinayaka, that once if they start preparing the Mothakams and offer it to Lord Vinayaka on his birthday, then definitely the big bellied and the beautiful god Vinayaka would partake with our Mothakams by taking an invisible form, since at this Kaliyuga, getting the direct darshan of the god is very difficult through our naked eyes.
