Govindapuram Panduranga Temple Krishna Jayanti Utsavam

Govindapuram Panduranga Temple Krishna Jayanti Utsavam… Lord Panduranga Temple in Govindapuram has now itself welcomes the Krishna Jayanti Festival of this year, which falls on 15-16 August 2025.

(HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BHAGAVAN KRISHNA, JAI SRI PANDURANGA MAHAPRABHU KI JAI).

This big temple is situated nearby Thiruvidaimaruthur. Devotees are allowed to touch the Utsalva Idols of Pandaranga and Ma Rukmini, and in the main shrine big statues of Panduranga and Ma Rukmini can be found. Devotees must have to climb few stairs in order to step inside the temple. We can offer lotus garlands and Thulasi Mala to the deities. Free Prasad items like curd rice are offered to the devotees and it really tastes very good. For visiting the Goshala (Cow shed), situated inside the temple premises, we have to walk for some distance, and there we could find about 300 holy cows, which are fed properly by the temple staffs. Prasad means an offering to the god, and it may be food items made up of rice, jaggery, pulses etc. Generally, after offering it to the god, it would be distributed among the devotees. Whatever may be the type of food items, it must be offered to the deities with utmost devotion on them. Most of the temples are allowing the devotees to bring the Prasad prepared from their home, and making them to offer it to the god, and allowing them to be distributed among the devotees.

Sri Krishna Prasadam is very famous in this temple and it would be served on a daily basis. The prasad items usually would be curd rice on normal days, and during festival days like Krishna Jayanti special items would be prepared and distributed to the devotees. Special pujas would be performed as per the request of the devotees, and throughout the day, we could see the divine couple with attractive garments and ornaments. We can keep on chanting the Krishna Mantra, “OM NAMO BHAGAVATE VASUDEVAYA”, throughout the Krishna Jayanti Day, and can get a great spiritual satisfaction.

The devotees of Lord Krishna would be very much delighted, if he really appears in the form of child Krishna, and if he ate the Krishna Prasad items at our homes during his birthday, that is during the Krishna Jayanti Festival day. Hence let us try to prepare delicious sweet and snacks items made out of butter, and let us make a humble call to him, in order to accept our offering on his birthday and also on Saturdays, since Saturdays are considered as auspicious days for worshipping and offering our Prasad items to Lord Krishna.
