Ghatasthapana Mantras | Mantras to chant during Navratri Kalasha Sthapana.. 1. Invocation of Rivers (Kalash Sthapana Mantra)

Sanskrit:
ॐ गंगे च यमुने चैव गोदावरि सरस्वति।
नर्मदे सिन्धु कावेरी जलेऽस्मिन सन्निधिं कुरु॥

Transliteration:
Om gange cha yamune chaiva godavari sarasvati
narmade sindhu kaveri jalesmin sannidhim kuru

Meaning:
“O sacred rivers Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Saraswati, Narmada, Sindhu, and Kaveri, please be present in this water.”

2. Kalash Sthapana (Prarthana Mantra)

Sanskrit:
कलशस्य मुखे विष्णुः कण्ठे रुद्रः समाश्रितः।
मूले तत्र स्थितो ब्रह्मा मध्ये मातृगणाः स्मृताः॥
कुक्षौ तु सागराः सर्वे सप्तद्वीपा वसुन्धरा।
ऋग्वेदोऽथ यजुर्वेदः सामवेदो ह्यथर्वणः॥
अङ्गैश्च सहिताः सर्वे कलशं तु समाश्रिताः।
अत्र गंगा च यमुना चैव गोदावरि सरस्वती।
नर्मदा सिंधु कावेरी जलेऽस्मिन सन्निधिं कुरु॥

Transliteration:
Kalashasya mukhe Vishnuh kanthe Rudrah samashritah
Moole tatra sthito Brahma madhye matrganah smritah
Kukshau tu sagarah sarve saptdvipa vasundhara
Rigvedoatha yajurvedah samavedo hyatharvanah
Angaishcha sahitah sarve kalasham tu samashritah
Atra Ganga cha Yamuna chaiva Godavari Sarasvati
Narmada Sindhu Kaveri jalesmin sannidhim kuru

Meaning:
“Lord Vishnu resides at the mouth of the Kalash, Lord Rudra at the neck, Lord Brahma at its base, all mother goddesses in the middle, oceans in the belly, and the Vedas reside with the Kalash, together with all the sacred rivers.”

3. Varuna Sthapana Mantra (while filling water in Kalash)

Sanskrit:
ॐ वरुणस्योत्तम्भनमसि वरुणस्य स्कभासर्जनि स्थो वरुणस्य ऋतसदन्यसि वरुणस्य ऋतसदनमसि वरुणस्य ऋतसदनमसीद्।

Transliteration:
Om Varunasya-ottambhanam asi Varunasya skabha-sarjani stho Varunasya ritasadanyasi Varunasya ritasadanam asi Varunasya ritasadanam asid

4. Durga Invocation Mantra

Sanskrit:
ॐ ह्रीं दुर्गायै नमः।

Transliteration:
Om Hreem Durgayai Namah

5. General Shakti Mantra

Sanskrit:
ॐ सर्वमंगलमंगल्ये शिवे सर्वार्थसाधिके।
शरण्ये त्र्यम्बके गौरी नारायणी नमोऽस्तुते॥

Transliteration:
Om Sarvamangala Mangalye Shive Sarvarthasadhike
Sharanye Tryambake Gauri Narayani Namostute
