EPDCL sanctions Rs 36.6 cr for Godavari Pushkaram works – Chairman and Managing Director of Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) Mutyala Raju has said the company has earmarked Rs.36.60 crore for Rajahmundry circle to take up Godavari Pushkaram works.

Addressing media persons here on Thursday, he said Rs. 18.36 crore was sanctioned to Eluru Circle to take up Pushkaram works in West Godavari district. Land acquisition for construction of sub-stations at four places in the city would be finalised in a day or two and the works would be completed within three months.

Mr Mutyala Raju said under “Deendayal Gram Jyoti Yojana”, the State government sent proposals to the tune of Rs. 2,500 crore. He announced that the APEPDCL would introduce LED bulbs in all the houses in Srikakulam town on February 3 and the project would be launched in West Godavari on Feb 10.

Siddha holds review meet

Meanwhile, Minister for Roads & Buildings and Transport Siddha Raghava Rao instructed officials to expedite repairs to the rail-cum-road bridge on the Godavari at Rajahmundry to make it ready for the Pushkarams. He also directed the Transport Commissioner to complete linkage of vehicle registration numbers with Aadhaar by first week of February.
At a review meeting in Hyderabad, he said priority should be given to installing signboards on the highways and drawing of zebra lines to ensure safety of commuters.
