Dakshinayan Yatra is an auspicious procession carried out in Puri Jagannath Temple. In 2014, Dakshinayan Sankranti date is 16 July.
It is celebrated when the Sun begins to move to the southwards or Zodiac of Cancer. It is popularly known as ‘Karkataka Sankranti’.
Special neetis are carried out in Sri Mandir to mark the occasion.
