On 9 July 2014, Ashadi Ekadashi Pandharpur Waari Yatra culminates amidst lakhs of devotees. Pandharpur Yatra (Pandhapur Palki Yatra or Pandharpur Ashadi Ekadasi Waari Yatra) is the most famous pilgrimage dedicated to Lord Vithoba Temple of Pandharpur, Solapur district of Maharashtra.
Generally, Pandharpur Ashadi Ekadasi Yatra begins 21 days prior to Ashadi Ekadashi (Ekadashi in Ashadha month) and ends on Ashadhi Ekadashi day.
Pandharpur Yatra, world famous pilgrimage to Pandharpur Vithoba temple, started from Dehu in Pune district and continued till Pune city, Alandi and the 21-day Palki yatra ends on the previous day of Ashadhi Ekadasi at Pandharpur Vithoba Temple. This year it ends on 8 July.
In 2014, Sant Tukaram Palki yatra has begun on 19 June 2014 and on 20 June 2014 Dnyaneswar Mouli Palki Yatra has begun (Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palki Yatra). After procession of 17 days, both these Palki Yatra are culminated in Pandharpur temple on 8 July 2014, the previous day of Ashadhi Ekadashi.
Ashadi Ekadashi is also popular as Devsayani Ekadashi, Harishayana Ekadashi, Tholi Ekadashi, Pratham Ekadashi or Ravinarayan Ekadashi.
