Shani Jayanti 2011 – Sani Jayanthi or Shanishwara Jayanti 2011

Shani Jayanti or Sani Jayanthi is observed on Amavasya in Vaishakh month or Vaisakha masam. Shani Jayanti 2011 date is 1 June, Wednesday. It falls on Jyeshta Amavasya in North Indian Hindi calendars. Shani Jayanti is considered as the Birthday or appearance day of Lord Shani, one of the navagrahas or nine celestial deities in Hinduism. In Hinduism, Sani is the deity of Shanivar. Shani bhagwan is also called as Shaneeswaran, Sani dev, Sanischara bhagwan or Chaya Putra. Shani Jayanthi is also observed as Shani Amavasya.
