Siddhidatri, Goddess Siddhidatri Navadurga

Siddhidatri is the ninth and the last form of Navadurga Goddesses. She is worshipped on the last day, Mahanavami, of Durga Navratri. Siddhidatri Pooja 2012 date is October 24. During Vasant Navratri, Siddhidhatri Puja date is  April 1, 2012.

Siddhidatri Mata gives her devotees all types of occult energies, which are named as ‘Ashtasiddhi. As per the Markandeya Purana, these Ashtasiddhis are – Anima, Mahima, Garima, Laghima, Prapthi, Prakamya, Isithwa and Vasithwa.

Lord Shiva has granted Ashtasiddhis from Siddhidatri by worshipping her with utmost dedication. That is why Shiva became Ardhanarishwara (accommodated the Goddess in half of his body).

Appearance or iconography of Goddess Siddhidatri:

Siddhidatri is four-armed Goddess hence known as Chaturbhuji. She rides a lion. The Goddess is seated on a lotus. She carries a Chakra (discus) in her right lower hand and a mace in her right upper hand. With the left lower hand she holds a Shankh (conch) and a lotus with her upper left hand.
