Diwali or Deepavali is the most celebrated festival in India. Diwali 2012 date or Deepavali 2012 date is November 13. Diwali festival is a five-day celebration which begins with Dhanteras (Dhan Trayodasi).

The second day of Diwali is Narak Chaturdasi (Roop Chaudas / Kali Chaudas). Third day of the festival is main Diwali (Deepavali).

14 November 2012: Deepavali Padwa, Bali Pratipada, Abhyanga Snan, Annakut, Kali Puja, Gujarati New Year begins (Vikram Samvat 2069 starts)

15 November 2012: Bhai Dooj, Yama Dwitiya

Diwali is one of the extremely celebrated Indian festivals throughout the world. Diwali, also known as Deepavali or Deepawali, is also called as Festival of lights. Historical accounts explain that the festival removes the darkness and brings back the light in human life.
