TTD publications at Ongole Srigiri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple – Srigiri Venkateswara Swamy temple here has been providing a solace to the people of Ongole who cannot afford to make frequent visits to Tirumala for a darshan of Lord Venkateswara. Now, the management of the world famous hill shrine will soon make available a range of books published by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) at Srigiri temple to cater to the needs of different sections of people, including children, youth, women and old people.
“An e-darshan counter will also be started shortly at Srigiri temple to facilitate advance booking of darshan slots remotely much before one’s visit to Tirumala,” according to Aluru Venkata Ramana Rao, coordinator of Hindu Dharma Parirakshana Trust and founder trustee of Srigiri temple.
He said TTD selected the Srigiri temple for selling its collection of valuable books pertaining to Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, Ithihasas, Agamas and Divya Prabandha satakas.
The range of books includes those meeting the needs of pundits as well as laymen. Some of the books are specifically targeted at youth,Mr. Ramana Rao told The Hindu. Sapthagiri magazine will be among the wide collection of TTD publications and also the most sought-after almanacs. Nearly 2,000 ‘panchangams’ were sold so far this year, Mr. Ramana Rao added.
