See – we hindus are used to believe nature as our God. (thats infact right). All the creatures of nature should be respected – thats what hinduism says. So during the shankaranthi festival,
on Bhogi – we clean up our homes and get ready for the festival. Infact, we should know the worth of the good old items and dispose only if it doesnt worth. but unfortunately, we had burnt a lot of good things without knowing their value and therefore our culture was left with a gap. The gap which Aryabatta can find without telescope!!!
on day 1 – We worship the Sun (as) God without whom we cannot live at all – shankarathi..
on day 2 – We worship the cattle which helps us plough the land and also gives us milk with our little care.
On Day 3 – we dedicate to visit our relatives & Friends and share our affection for them. Love and affection grows only when shared. Thats were we dedicated time for it.
But do we understand all these?? I myself doubt – for us, nowadays these days are holidays to relax at home…Lets understand and praise our culture
Our present day life style is mainly focused on self-gratification and fulfilling all our desires good or bad.
We have sadly lost our way.
Makar Sankranti is very grand festival in Tamil Nadu. We celebrate with full family and this time we are getting 3 days holidays with weekend. Enjoy the festival
