Sri Vaijnath temple is situated in the tiny village known as Parli, in Beed district, in the state of Maharashtra in western India. The principal deity of this temple is Vaijnath (Lord Shiva) and his consort is none. The holy tree of this temple is Vilwa. The holy water of this temple is spring water.
The agamam or pooja of this temple is called as Kameeyam. This temple is about 2000-3000 years old in this region. The historical name of this spot is Barali.
The principal festivals of this particular shrine are Arudra Darshan, all Fridays in Shravan Month (Shravan Shukravar) in July-August, Shravan Somvar (Mondays in Shravan Month / Aani Tirumanjanam) in June-July, in February-March Maha Shivaratri drawing huge crowd of pilgrims and devotees, Mondays in Kartik Month (Kartik Somvar) in November-December, etc. are grandly celebrated in this temple. It is a shrine that is visited frequently by local devotees and pilgrims too.
The temple is open for devotees and pilgrims from 6.00 a.m. to 12.00 a.m. and from 5.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.
Lord Shiva in the shrine is a swayambumurthy. During all the festive days and auspicious day, the shrine is open for long hours with great devotion and dedication.
According to the local legends, this temple is known among the devotees and pilgrims as wish fulfiller temple. Special pujas and rituals are performed to the Lord on all the Shiva related festive days and auspicious days in this shrine.
