Southern Railway will run special trains for Onam 2010 in August 2010. Onam is the biggest festival season for Southern Railway. The trains will run between Trichy (Tiruchirapalli) and Mangalore. Passengers may expect more special trains for Onam 2010 from Southern Railway, South Central Railway, and Konkan Railway. Here is the list of special trains and their timetable and detailed information about the stoppages of the trains:
- Train No. 0643 Tiruchi – Mangalore Central superfast special train will leave Tiruchi at 6 p.m. on August 21 and reach Mangalore Central at 5.25 a.m., August 22.
- In the return direction, Train No. 0644 Mangalore Central – Tiruchi superfast special train will leave Mangalore at 8.45 p.m. on August 22 to reach Tiruchi at 8.15 a.m. on August 23.
- These special trains will stop at Karur, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palakkad, Shoranur, Kozhikode and Kannur. This train will have one AC 2-tier, two AC 3-tier, 11 sleeper class, two general second class and two second class-cum- luggage van coaches.
- Train No. 0645 Tiruchi – Mangalore Central special train will leave Tiruchi at 7.45 p.m. on August 23 and 25 and reach Mangalore Central at 10.15 a.m. on August 24 and 26 respectively.
- In the return direction, Train No. 0646 Mangalore Central – Tiruchi special train will leave Mangalore at 7.45 p.m. on August 24 and 26 to reach Tiruchi at 8.15 a.m. on August 25 and 27 respectively.
- These special trains will stop at Karur, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Podanur, Palakkad, Shoranur, Kuttipuram, Tirur, Kozhikode, Vadakara, Thalasery, Kannur, Payyanur, Kanhangad and Kasargod.
- It will have one AC 2-tier, two AC 3-tier, 11 sleeper class, two general second class and two second class-cum-luggage van coaches, a Southern Railway release here said.
