Naktala Udayan Sangha Durga Puja 2012

Naktala Udayan Sangha has come up with the theme of “Butterfly- colour of life” representing the process of creation of a butterfly from cocoon.

The pandal is in the form of a large butterfly hanging in the air and feeding on the nectar of a flower. The base of the complete pandal is a large flower and all butterfly are over hit for nectar. The cocoon at the back of it and the caterpillar at the entrance tells us the story of the birth of a butterfly.

Nearly 4 tons of iron have been used to create the hanging butterfly. The different colourful cloth creates the wings of the butterfly. This year the programme was inagurated by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Naktala Udayan Sangha has active participation in various social, cultural and sports activities. The organisation is also famous for celebrating the occasion of Sharodotsav and is amongst the most famous in Kolkata.

The puja draws an estimated 3 to 4 lakh visitors every year and has won numerous awards in the past. The organisation by virtue of the recognition and elaborate with the touch of class presentation has already earned the reputation of being one of the major attractions of the city and has been constantly awarded with all the Mega awards.
