The 11-day Mahashivaratri Brahmotsavam is celebrated with utmost gaiety and fervor in Srisailam Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple. In 2023, Shivaratri annual Brahmotsavam will begin on February 11 and ends on February 21. Shivaratri 2023 date is February 18. (Tentative Schedule).
Before the beginning of the 11-day festival, chief priests of the temple invoke Ganapati and conduct ‘Maha Sankalpam for universal peace. Ankurarpana and Dwajarohanam will be performed on February 11, 2023.

20 February 2023 : Purnahuthi, Vasantotsavam, Trishula Snanam, Shiva deeksha viramana, Dhwajarohana.
21 February 2023 : Ashwavahana seva
The major events during Shivratri celebrations are – Vahana Sevas to God and Goddess, Lingodhbhavakala Maharudrabhishekam to God, Pagalankarana, Shiva Parvati Kalyanothsavam (Bramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy kalyanam), Rathothsavam and Dhwajavarohana.
Vahana sevas are other important events of Shivaratri brahmotsavam in Srisailam Mallikarjuna Temple in which the procession of Mallikarjuna and Bramarambika take place on various vahanas like – Seshavahanam, Mayura Vahanam, Nandivahanam, and Ashwa vahanam.
At midnight on Mahashivaratri (18 February 2023), Lingodbhavam (emergence of Lingam) and Maha Abhishekam are celebrated at Srisailam Temple. Rathothsavam will be performed on the next day of Shivaratri (19 February 2023). The Srisailam Temple committee is expecting that more than one lakh devotees will participate in Rathothsavam (Car Festival).
The 11-day Brahmotsavam festival ends with Dwajavarohanam in which the Dwajapathakam (flag) will be removed from Dhwajasthambham. Nearly a Million devotees will visit the Srisailam Mallikarjuna swamy temple during Shivaratri 2023 Brahmotsavams.
