Maha Samadhi for Sathya Sai on 27 April – Puttaparthi Saibaba’s last rites tomorrow

Maha Samadhi for Sathya Sai of Puttaparthi will be built on 27 April 2011, Wednesday, in Kulwanth Hall of Prashanti Nilayam in accordance with Hindu tradition. The time of Maha Samadhi is from 9 am to 10 am on Wednesday. The body of Sathya Sai will be kept in sleeping position in the Samadhi amid chanting of Vedic mantras. The place of Samadhi is exactly from where Baba used to address devotees.

Sathya Saibaba’s devotees are bringing Saraswati Theertha, the holy water of Saraswati River, from Kurukshetra of Haryana and Ganga water for his last rites. Devotees are also planning to install a huge statue (idol) of Sai baba at the Samadhi.

It is to note that devotees will be allowed to have darshan of Sathya Saibaba till Tuesday evening. As it is private affair, no common devotee will be allowed to see Maha Samadhi or last rites of Sathya Sai.
