Kalibari Durga Puja 2012 in Hyderabad: Sarbojanin Durga Puja in Kalibari Temple

Kalibari Durga Puja or Durga Puja in Kalibari temple in Hyderabad is a grand Durga Puja celebration by Bengali Associations and Kalibari temple committee of Hyderabad. Kalibari Durga Puja 2012 begins on October 20, 8 am onwards at the premises of temple located near Ammugadda Railway Station at Sainikpuri, Hyderabad. The main puja will be continued from 20 October evening 7.30 to 24 October 4 pm.

Apart from Durga Puja celebrations, the temple and association will also organize cultural events such as Alpana competition on Durga Ashtami (22 October, 2012), and other drama competitions.

The  most important festival of the Bengalis, is the worship of “Shakti” or the divine power. Most of the religious celebrations in the world have legends surrounding them. The fables are generally the fight between the evil and the good, the dark forces eventually succumbing to the divine. Worship of goddess Durga is based on mythology where Durga symbolizes the divine power. This is the 27^th year of DURGA POOJA organized by Hyderabad Kalibari which will be  celebrated from 19^th October, 2012 to 24^th October,2012.

Hyderabad Kalibari is a linguistic society of Bengali Linguistic Minority Community celebrating the important Bengali festivals over the last 35 years involving all sections of the society cutting across the barriers of cast and creed.

Durga Pooja has turned out to be more of a social festival. The preparations required to make it a success depends largely on the contributions from all the sections of the society.
