Sri Krishna Janmashtami (Sri Krishna Jayanti, Gokulashami, Krishnashtami) is the birthday of Lord Sri Krishna. It is celebrated on Krishna Paksha Ashtami in Shravan Month in calendars followed in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka and in Bhadrapad Month as per North Indian Hindi calendars followed in Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, etc…
In 2022, Sri Krishna Janmashtami dates are: 18 August and 19 August. Smarta and Madhva sect of people celebrates it on 18 August and Vaishnava Janmashtami is on 19 August. Nandotsav 2022 date is August 20.
In Kerala and some parts of Tamil Nadu, Sri Krishna Jayanti is celebrated as Ashtami Rohini. In 2022, Ashtami Rohini date is August 18. Udupi Sri Krishna Math Temple follows ‘Ashtami Rohini’ tradition to celebrate Sri Krishna Jayanti.
Sri Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated for a week in Gujarat. In Maharashtra, Dahi Handi and Gopal kala are the major attractions during Janmashtami.

You do not take opt that day for your delivery on 10th on janmastami since it leads to other complications to your complications since star on that day is Rohini so it leads to face sever problems to your and your family members physically but so far baby is concerned it is good. However, what has to be done it is good to all of us

I am confused as to whether Janmashtami should be celebrated on 2nd or 3rd. I am going to fast but according to Krishna ashtami fasting rules, rules of ekadashi should be followed. I am confused Please help me out what is the most appropriate day to celebrate Krishna ashtami
2nd September is Smarta Janmashtami, 3rd is Vaishnava Janmashtami.
I am a Vaishnava. So fasting and celebration both are recommended on 3rd?

And most of the Panchangas gave 2 September for South Indians and 3rd September for North Indians. And anyhow, Puja will be in the night, so you can do fasting and puja both on 2 September (South India).
