Shravan Month also invokes the patriotism along with the spiritual fervor among devotees of Lord Shiva in Jabalpur. This year’s Kanwad Yatra picks up the movement against Chinese puja samagri and creates a favorable environment for natural and swadesi Puja items.
The Jabalpur Kanwad Yatra which was taken on 17 July 2017, Monday, reinstated the patriotism amidst the growing tension along side the Indi-Chinese border and aggression of Chinese troops in Sikkim. According to the Kanwaris it is a demonstration of patriotic feelings towards our national interest.
Kanwad Yatra has begun at 7 PM from Siddh Ghat Gauri Ghat amidst the chants of BOL BAM, BAM BAM’, ‘BAM BAM BHOLE or HAR HAR MAHADEV’ by more than 21 thousand devotees. Number of saints were participated in this sacred event along with Shri Samarth Sadguru Bhaiyyaji Sarkar, Founder of Narmada Mission, who has initiated it with Dugdhabhishek to Lord Shiva.
In 2017, Kanwad Yatra has begun on July 10. Sawan Shivratri in 2017 date is July 21. Sawan Shivratri, Hariyali Amavasya (Shravan Amavasya), Hariyali Teej, Shravan Purnima, and Shravan Somvar (Mondays in Shravan Month) are considered highly auspicious during this Yatra.
