Sri Hridayaleeswarar temple is based in the residential area mentioned as Thirunenravur, in the district of Thiruvallur, in the state of Tamil Nadu in Southern India. The primary deity of this temple is Hridayaleeswarar (Mana Aalaya Easwarar) (Lord Shiva) and his consorts are Maragadamnigai and Maragathavalli.
The holy tree of this temple is Vilwa. The holy water of this temple is Well water. The agamam or pooja of this temple is known as Sivagama. This temple is nearly 1000-2000 years old in this region. The historical name of this spot is Thirunenravur.
There are many festivals that are celebrated in this temple. That are Thaipoosam, Panguni Uthiram in March-April, Mahasankranthi (Pongal), Vaikasi Visakam in May-June; Panguni Uthiram, 10 day Chithirai Mother Chamundeeswari festival commencing from the first day after new moon day in April-May; Arudra Darshan, Aavani Moolam in August-September; Maha Shivrathri in February-March, Vaikasi Visakam, Aadi Pooram in July-August; Karthikai Deepam in November-December; Margazhi Tiruvadhirai in December-January; Aipasi Annabishekam in October-Novemberare and Thai Poosam in January-February are celebrated in this temple with full dedication and devotion by Hindus.
The temple is open from 6.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m and 4.30 p.m to 8.30 p.m for all the Hindus. It is to be noted that Shivarathi is festival that is marked with a Public holiday in India and across other nation where a good percentage of Hindu population resides. In this shrine, Lord Shiva graces as a swayambumurthy for the devotees and pilgrims. In the sanctum sanctorum, Poosalar is placed by the side of Lord.
