Why ashtami is not good to travel.if we want to travel on that what we have to do????

Hi Usha,

For your information Hindu Calendar is based on Chandramana panchanga ( majorly used ) and in some parts Solar panchanga is used to refer to Thithi, Vara, paksha and Festivals. If you see in a month we have 2 Pakshas ( Fornight) which has the following days earmarked based on scienfic vedic calculation.  As you see each day is dedicated to deva ganas.  As far as the Thithi ( Days ) concerned; it is summarised as:

Bidige / Vidiya & Tadige / Tadiya – meant to be auspicious for doing good deeds.

Chauthi – 4 th day in a month dedicated to Lord Ganesha, vinasha nivaraka is good to start ventures.

Panchami and Saptami – Good for any work

Astami  – is meant to be not good for starting any work / deeds.  As majority believes that works begun on Astami day bring asta kasta.  Though Godess Durga and Lord Krishna are born during the same day, they too had to go through bad times.

Navami – is also not so good but we have Sri Ramachandra born on Chaithra Navami and Great Madhwa matha guru Madhwacharya’s Aradhane is done on Navami day.

Dashami – Victory

Ekadashi – Holy and punya

Dwadashi – Holy

Trayodashi and Chathurdashi – Good

Thanks for your information. Iam travelling to states on 30th july 2013(4:20 am) and that day is ashtami.

Is there a way you can postpone or prepone or cancel.  see if you can.  Else God is the only way out.  In future do not travel or plan out any things during these days.

no way to cancel or reschedule. can i go to my relatives place before 2 days and from there can i go,is it ok……please advice.
